Winner Best Science Based Incubator

This prestigious award is one of the six international awards made at this conference organised by The

winnaar BSBI2008

Technopolicy Network in The Netherlands. Rankings for the award are based on a combination of quantitative performance indicators and the opinion of an international expert jury. A total of 53 science-based incubators from 23 countries around the world entered the competition in 2008. Over the last six years, more than 250 incubators from Europe, Northern America, the Middle East, Australia and Asia have competed for the award.

The 7th Annual Incubator Conference on “Best Science Based Incubators” was organised by The Technopolicy Network, a network managed by Science Alliance in the Netherlands, in cooperation with Genopole© (France), the SPICE Group (Germany), the European BIC Network (Belgium) and the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation Services (UK), which were all present at the conference and the awards.

The overall winner of the Award, Incubator d’Impresa di Città della Scienza SpA was followed by IPN-Incubadora from Portugal and FirstFlightVentureCenter from USA. For the ‘Best Science Based Incubator’ award subcategories, Stockholm Innovation and Growth (STING) based in Sweden was the winner of the ‘Fastest Growth’ award, the award for ‘Self-Sustainability’ was won by GITZ – Geesthachter Innovations- u. Technologiezentrum from Germany, and the award for ‘Return on Investment’ was won by Technologie- und Grunderzentrum Oldenburg (TGO) based in Germany.
